We are pleased to be in touch this week with the 12th edition's special focus on performance art. Live performances are scheduled throughout the run of the fair, continuing Untitled Art’s support of non-commercial genres and multi-disciplinary art practices.

Awilda Sterling-Duprey, Blindfolded (2020 and ongoing)
Presented by Nest Exhibitor El Kilómetro (San Juan, Puerto Rico)
Fusing Afro-Caribbean dance, music, drawing, and performance, Sterling-Duprey translates music through her body into dance movements on the paper´s surface with sharp actions and a sense of playfulness.

Trueson Daugherty, Absolute Obedience (2023)
Curated by Kalup Linzy with the support of The Tulsa Artist Fellowship
Daugherty will serve a mass wedding cake served to the public, catalyzing dialogue about the nuances of religious rituals, cultural heritage, and the implications of conformity.

Lieven De Boeck, what's going on? (2023 ongoing)
Supported by Gallery Meessen De Clercq and Ringling College of Art and Design
De Boeck's parade is a performance, a happening, and a feast celebrating mixed gender and queer identity—Participating and experiencing art through queerness.
 
Thursday, December 7th

Erick Antonio Benitez, Software for People v2 (2023)
Presented by Exhibitor Selenas Mountain (New York, NY) and supported by Y.ES Contemporary
A duet performance and collaboration between Benitez and the dancer, Andrea Soto, that reimagines and negotiates the possibilities of the Glitch as a tool of liberation and empowerment.

Friday, December 8th

Gozalez's latest work is an ever-evolving infrastructure exploring the discourse around public and private space, in collaboration with dancers Destiny Diaz and Maria Burt from SYNCOPATE COLLECTIVE, poet Arsimmer McCoy, and musicians King Friday and Claudens Louis.

David Correa, The Machining of the Fool (2023)
Presented by Exhibitor Negrón Pizarro (San Juan, Puerto Rico)
Taking elements from political theorists and philosophers as well as biblical mythology, art history, and medicine, David Correa creates performances that depict the desperation, resentment, and sorrow of the Latin laborer.
 
Saturday, December 9th

Nicki Duval and Robbie Trocchia, bout (2023)
Presented by Cultural Partner Locust Projects
An audiovisual performance and installation that deconstructs competitive boxing and the work of American realist painter George Bellows, erasing boundaries between arts and athletics, breaking down the boundaries between arts and athletics, and challenging gender stereotypes through boxing and queerness.

Join Marquez Art Projects on 12/4 at 6pm for the opening reception of Cusp, an exhibition of new paintings and drawings by José Delgado Zuñiga; Locust Projects, Miami’s longest-running nonprofit alternative art space, is hosting their "Meet the Artists Reception and Performance" on 12/5 at 6pm, featuring a special performance by Tania Candiani; and visit the de la Cruz Collection during the week for their exhibition House in Motion / New Perspectives that represents the collection's history, bringing together paintings, sculptures and site-specific installations.

Politics As Usual Or Is It?

                                                  As the fight for equality and justice continues, many have opinions on things that should take place during this time and through this era of life; with former President Trump facing his third indictment and Governor DeSantis loosing his backing and support from investors. It leaves most to wonder what is taking place in the political parties, there level of professionalism and the image that they portray to the citizens of this country. There is also the issues that are not being fully spoken about on news channels, issues such as current President Joe Biden's son, Hunter Biden being under investigation for his ties in Ukraine and the damaging information that was found on his computer. The fact that it was said that he plead guilty to these charges that were brought against him in federal court about his business practices does not seem to touch the air ways in the manner that it should.
