Miami Children's Initiative (MCI) is a 501 C(3) nonprofit organization focused on breaking a cycle of poverty in Liberty City, a Miami neighborhood with a per capita income lower than 97% of U.S. neighborhoods.

We are determined that the future of Liberty City’s children will not be defined by their zip code. MCI’s aims are both ambitiously broad and keenly focused: It seeks, on one hand, to touch virtually every aspect of the community’s life as the next generation of Liberty City’s infants and children grows to adulthood. Yet it plans to do so, not by taking single-handed responsibility for each economic and social problem facing every child and family, but by creating a self-reinforcing community of families building a common future through their own efforts.

To do this in an environment where underlying institutions and social structures are fragile and embattled, MCI plans to reach 100% (well over the 60% requirement) of the children and youth (0-24) in the next ten years, and a significant percentage of residents with an increasingly effective mix of programs. As an underlying tenant of the model, MCI plans to tailor those programs to the changing needs of its younger constituents, beginning with the youngest, which are most open to support and guidance.

Politics As Usual Or Is It?

                                                  As the fight for equality and justice continues, many have opinions on things that should take place during this time and through this era of life; with former President Trump facing his third indictment and Governor DeSantis loosing his backing and support from investors. It leaves most to wonder what is taking place in the political parties, there level of professionalism and the image that they portray to the citizens of this country. There is also the issues that are not being fully spoken about on news channels, issues such as current President Joe Biden's son, Hunter Biden being under investigation for his ties in Ukraine and the damaging information that was found on his computer. The fact that it was said that he plead guilty to these charges that were brought against him in federal court about his business practices does not seem to touch the air ways in the manner that it should.
