Untitled Art. Introducing Untitled, Art Monuments

Introducing UNTITLED, ART Monuments

Antonia Wright & Ruben Millares, It is not down on any map; true places never are, Rendering.

Monuments is a new initiative by UNTITLED, ART focusing on bringing large-scale, site-specific installations to the public in Lummus Park.

It is not down on any map; true places never are is a kinetic-outdoor sculpture collaboration between Miami based artists Antonia Wright and Ruben Millares. This sculpture is a continuation of their shared interest in using the body to challenge social conventions and explore issues of identity.

It is not down on any map; true places never are serves as a contradiction to the traditional rules of flag code, forbidding the display of the flag of one nation above that of another in times of peace. In this performative installation, these rules are intentionally manipulated to offer a participatory and contemplative place to question our ideas of individualism and the mechanics of nationalism. Now more than ever, this piece speaks to power dynamics, trade, immigration, colonialism, and the role of the viewer's body in space.

Enjoy Taquiza at UNTITLED, ART

Taquiza is Miami's definitive destination for authentic Mexican tacos & street fare. USDA organic and non-GMO blue corn are ground in-house daily, then used for homemade gluten-free tortillas and chips. Following rave reviews in The Miami Herald, Eater, and many other publications, UNTITLED, ART is excited to partner with Taquiza to bring fairgoers a fresh taste of Miami's best tacos and Mexican offerings this December.
