Hip Hop Music and the Fight for Justice and Equality!

The first song i heard for 2014 with a rapper addressing young black men losing their lives in the streets was T.I the name of the song is New National Anthem featuring Skylar Grey. T.I, Nelly, Talib Kweli, Young Jeezy and J. Cole were all vocal supporters for justice of Micheal "Mike" Brown. He speaks on the pain that everyone is going through as a nation. It speaks clearly about the racism that is taking place in this country, addressing issues such as the shooting that took place in the elementary school back in 2013; also the movie theatre shooting that took place in Aurora Colorado in the year 2012.  These young white boys were not killed when officers arrived on the scene instead they were arrested and face trial. So why are all these young black men and boys that are not killing anyone being treated so unfair and un-jus.

Now you have "The Game" and he has collaborated with Diddy, Rick Ross, 2 Chainz, Fabolous, Wale, DJ Khaled, Swizz Beatz, Yo Gotti, Curren$y, King Pharaoh and R&B super-group TGT ~ Tyrese, Ginuwine and Tank~ the record is called "Don't Shoot". The Game has said that this matter has hit him on a very personal level as a man that grew up in the streets and a father. He knows too well what it is like for these young boys but he doesn't want this for his children. So he was compelled to use his musical platform and do something about the current issues that has taken place with these young black men losing there lives. This is their way of saying that they care and taking a positive approach to doing their part to solving the issue. You can also listen to The Game's song on sound click.
