OPENING TOMORROW AT RENTAL GALLERY Margaux Ogden:  Space Never Moved Opening Reception:  Saturday, March 17, 4-6PM 87 Newtown Lane, East Hampton, NY Tomorrow ,  Saturday, March 17  marks the opening of  Margaux Ogden 's new solo exhibition,  Space Never Moved  at  Rental Gallery.  The gallery will celebrate with an opening reception from  4-6pm .  With these new works, Ogden continues her exploration of acrylic on raw canvas, parsing gesture and palette to create tightly patterned, self-referential works. Ogden’s singular approach strips the paintings to their bare essentials: paint, canvas, gesture—and within that, time. The exhibition will be on view through  Saturday, April 18 .

In the past, Ogden used phrases and symbols as a painterly typeface, repeating pictographs and bits of often-redacted text in an act of encoded intimacy. REYES PROJECTS AT NADA NEW YORK PRESENTING JAMES BENJAMIN FRANKLIN BOOTH 2.03 MARCH 8-11, 2018 DETROIT, MI –  Reyes Projects  is pleased to announce a solo presentation of new work by Detroit-based artist  James Benjamin Franklin  at  NADA New York, March 8 - 11, 2018 . This will be the gallery’s first booth at the fair’s New York iteration. Loosely constructed shapes and unwieldy textures combine in Franklin’s work to form a style that is uniquely untethered by traditional narrative. Shape, texture, and palette flow into one another, overlap, and expand in dynamic compositions liberated from the confines of a canvas. In these works, Franklin has found solace in the ambiguity of sculptural painting with shapes born from wire and panels from objects found in his studio.
