For his solo exhibition  Subjective Cosmology , Sanford Biggers will create an immersive interactive experience throughout  MOCAD , incorporating video installation, visual art objects, and new media. Imagined as an unseen world made visible, the exhibition gives physical form to hidden landscapes where the past, present, and future synergized into an atemporal experience. Subjective Cosmology can be seen as the link between his three—part film suite  Shuffle, Shake, Shatter . Shuffle, Shake, Shatter  is an ambitious three-part film/video suite that explores the formation and dissolution of identity through the journey and actions of an un-named main character. With the completion of his journey, he will have also retraced the North Atlantic Slave Trade route, albeit abstractly, from Europe to the Americas and finally Africa. PETERSBURG —  August 27, 2016  —  This year, the last days of summer will be crowned with the highly anticipated opening of  New Holland Island . As announced earlier, August will see the completion of the first and most important phase of the restoration and regeneration of the island: the introduction of a park zone with temporary pavilions. Additionally, the island now has infrastructure for the engineering and technical support necessary to support the functions of the park and the restoration of the remaining structures. The park landscaping has been designed by the Dutch landscape and urban design bureau,  West 8 , while the concept for the temporary structures was created by St Petersburg-based architects,  Sergey Bukin  and  Lyubov Leontieva (Ludi Architects) . Aspen (July 2016) — Darrow Contemporary  is pleased to announce  Mount Analogue , a group exhibition curated by  Neville Wakefield , opening to the public  July 16, 2016  at  Performance Ski in Aspen  (614 E Durant Ave, Aspen, CO 81611). Housed in the resort town’s premier ski shop that has been specifically redesigned for the exhibition,  Mount Analogue  brings together a wide range of contemporary artists who examine the cultural history of the mountains—be they spiritual, sublime, or the sites of luxury vacation. Mount Analogue  includes works by a wide range of contemporary artists, illustrating how mountains, one of the oldest tropes in art history, continue to inspire artists.
