PETERSBURG — August 27, 2016 — This year, the last days of summer will be crowned with the highly anticipated opening of New Holland Island . As announced earlier, August will see the completion of the first and most important phase of the restoration and regeneration of the island: the introduction of a park zone with temporary pavilions. Additionally, the island now has infrastructure for the engineering and technical support necessary to support the functions of the park and the restoration of the remaining structures. The park landscaping has been designed by the Dutch landscape and urban design bureau, West 8 , while the concept for the temporary structures was created by St Petersburg-based architects, Sergey Bukin and Lyubov Leontieva (Ludi Architects) .
